Mechanical Engineering - the broadest and evergreen branch of all engineering disciplines - deals with design and production of tools, machines and all other mechanical equipment to be used in various industries. Mechanical engineers are involved in creating the future. They not only design and create new products, but also develop materials for them and ways of making them. They are the driving force behind many of our technologies and industrial processes including innovative products in our modern world. The work of a mechanical engineer can be extremely challenging, requiring design and analytical skills together with an ability to work as a team. While designing and making any product they have to take into account all the business and marketing aspects to make sure that the product is affordable and aesthetic. Mechanical engineers are also responsible for maintenance and repair of machines and equipments.

The department of Mechanical Engineering is committed to produce the dynamic, dexterous and skilled technocrats to meet the growing demand of Mechanical Engineers in this competitive world. The state-of-the-art department with Mechanical Workshop, Drawing Lab, Thermal Lab, Fluid Mechanics and Machines Lab, Strength of material Lab, Material Science Lab and Automobile Lab aims at providing the in-depth knowledge of the subject.

LIST OF LABORATRIES IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING 

HEAT MASS TRANSFER LAB: This Laboratory is equipped with Heat exchanger, Conduction through composite walls, Stefan Boltzmann apparatus, various conduction, convection and radiation testing equipments. All the equipment’s are provided with the latest operating system and digital read out. 

THERMAL ENGINEERING LAB: This Laboratory is equipped with latest working model of I.C. engines, Generator, morse test, compressors etc. 

DYNAMICS OF MACHINES LAB: The Laboratory is furnished with instruments to assess the performance of CAM analysis apparatus, Governors, Gyroscopic couple and critical speed of shaft. Different Strain gauges and Dynamometer, Journal bearing apparatus, etc. 

MECHANICAL MESURMENT AND CONTROL LAB: This Laboratory fulfills the academic needs of the students and is equipped with various types of measuring devices. 

MECHANICS OF SOLID LAB: This laboratory is equipped with UTM, CHARPY and IZOD test, TORSINAL TEST, SPRING INDEX TEST etc. These all machines are used to mesure strength of materials. 

FLUID MECHANICS LAB: This Laboratory fulfills the academic needs of the students and is equipped with various types of pumps and turbines like Pelton wheel and Francis turbine and other flow measuring devices.

PRODUCTION LAB: This lab is well equipped with shaper machine , milling machine, drill machine, lath machines, capston lath, power hacksaw etc

We have excellent laboratory facilities like the largest and fully equipped workshop with a lot of conventional machines. Systematically designed curriculum, and dedicated faculty members make this Department a dynamic place to study.Keeping itself up to date with the latest developments and trends in the field and with a dedicated faculty of mechanical engineering, the department consistently strives to provide world class facilities for education.
