LIST OF LABORATRIES IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

Electrical Circuit Lab

This lab aims to provide practical approach to students about basic electrical components, their characteristics& applications in day to day life. Moreover in this lab we are making the students aware with the different theorems, laws, networks, circuits etc. which are the basic of all those huge electrical equipments, transmission lines, motors, generators etc. The purpose of this lab is to provide a clear concept with basic idea related to electrical circuits with which they will have to carry for better understanding in the coming semesters. The lab has all the facilities to perform the experiments.

Electrical Machine Lab

The Electrical Machines Laboratory supports teaching, research work on electrical machines and drives. Through hands-on experiments with real machines, students gain practical experience on transformers and various types of machine drives. The laboratory can also be used for project work related to electrical machines and energy conversion.

Power Electronics Lab

The Power Electronics Lab focuses on the power electronics course and it deals with the practical understanding and demonstration to the students about the various power electronic techniques.

This lab has the capability for experiments such as Buck Converter, Boost Converter, Buck-Boost Converter, Forward Converter and Fly Back Converter.

This lab is supposed to provide the student with an idea of Power Electronic Circuits and their extensive applications for the power systems industry and field.

High Voltage Lab

The High Voltage Laboratory is a research and undergraduate teaching laboratory. It specialises in the measurement and testing of equipment and components of Electric Power Engineering.

Teaching laboratories include studying the breakdown of air under varying atmospheric conditions, especially moisture, varying supply voltage and frequency and under multiple insulation arrangements. They are particularly geared towards the use of live-line techniques for transmission and distribution system maintenance. Transformer insulation condition measurement is also a set laboratory exercise.

Electrical Measurement Lab

This lab aims at providing the basic concepts for measuring the different electrical parameters like voltage, current, power, unknown parameters etc. with precision& calibration of different types of instruments and also to impart knowledge on the working s of the different types of measuring instruments .This lab has the set ups like master unit for measurements, Power Factor meter, wattmetersetc& bridges like Maxwell’s, Anderson’s, Wiens, Universal impedence Bridge etc to find the values of unknown parameters like inductance, capacitance etc. This lab is also equipped with all other accessories to facilitate the students to perform their experiments to acquire better knowledge

Control System Lab

Control Systems Lab includes experiments on linear control systems. Various parameters like pr, speed, etc are controlled by P, PI, PID controllers and also focusses on digital control systems like Robo control and digital communication system. Control System Lab includes design of linear and digital control systems by using MATLAB, SIMLINK softwares.

MAT Lab

MATLAB is a programming environment for algorithm development, data analysis, visualization, and numerical computation. Using MATLAB, you can solve technical computing problems faster than with traditional programming languages, such as C, C++, and Fortran. You can use MATLAB in a wide range of applications, including signal and image processing, communications, control design, test and measurement, financial modeling and analysis, and computational biology. For a million engineers and scientists in industry and academia, MATLAB is the language of technical computing.
